Contemporary ceramics by Bertozzi & Casoni in Pietrasanta

From October 17th 2020 to February 7th 2021, in the Cloister of Sant'Agostino in Pietrasanta, the exhibition "Time", with ceramics by Bertozzi & Casoni

19 works, for an anthological journey designed specifically for Pietrasanta: the contemporary ceramics of Bertozzi & Casoni are the protagonists of the exhibition of winter 2020-21 in the city of Versilia. A specific setting, to actively involve the viewer in a reflection on time.

"Tempo" (the italian word for TIME) is in fact the title of the exhibition, hosted in the Cloister of Sant'Agostino from 17 October to 7 February. From 21 November it will also extend to the Chapter Room and the Hall of Putti, also in the complex of Sant'Agostino.

The artists

In the course of their artistic career, Bertozzi & Casoni have been able to confer on ceramics such a dignity as to make it enter the panorama of the major arts by right.

They have exhibited in the most important national and international exhibitions, such as the Tate Liverpool and two editions of the Venice Biennale. They have recently participated in exhibitions at the Morandi Museum in Bolognaat the Meşher in Istanbul, at the Villa Reale in Monza, at the Art Museum in Catanzaro. Also this year they participated in the Philosophy Festival in Modena presenting at the Museum Bertozzi & Casoni in Sassuolo Quinta Stagione, a portrait that represents the season of modernity.

Bertozzi & Casoni’s approach to the creative process has always been characterized by an ethical attitude that sees sculptural production as a plastic translation of reflections of existential and philosophical character, with the aim of involving the user in a participatory way.

The exhibition

On display large-scale works such as Composition No. 14 and Terra, works that dialogue with the history of art (from Vermeer to Warhol). And then still lives on the iconographic themes of vanitas and memento mori, allegories of the struggle of the human being with the tyrant Cronos.

The exhibition is curated by Mauro Daniele Lucchesi and Alessandro Romanini. It is promoted by the City of Pietrasanta, and organized by the association Quattro Coronati.
